Klausethornet, 669moh. (Midsundtrappene)

This is the one with all the mushrooms. Подосиновик is Rødskrubb or Eikeskrubb or Ospeskrubb in Norwegian. Birch Bolete in English, apparently, although – why is birch here? ‘Cause there’s also Подберезовик (which is more birch-related, then?) which is also a “skrubb” in Norwegian (Brunskrubb?) Easy to get confused, but those are all edible and good, so. From the lake and upwards almost to the summit there were quite a lot of them – good fun.

The hike is nice and actually more pleasant over the stairs than I had thought. However on this one we only get to climb the first (bottom) stairs, when that one ends, there are two more – one left and one right (north and south, then, I suppose) and we needed to go straight to the Klausethornet. After that junction there’s a pretty wet flat patch along the river, then you hug the lake and start climbing past a couple of mountain cabins (a bit weirdly placed if you ask me). The last climb is not too hard, but you know it’s there.

So, there’s supposed to be a pretty popular place, like a “hammock park”? There’s one up top somewhere and also one below near the sea level – somewhere. We didn’t get to see any of those. Apparently they are quite popular (book in advance kind of deal). But no idea what they look like.
