Rødven – Skåla og Litleoksen
First time using snow shoes! Great little hike – well, I say “little”, but it was actually a bit hard at times. The ability to move over the snow that looks so smooth and easy makes you do crazy stuff, like climbing steep inclines without knowing how. Or that one time when you look behind you and there’s just a sheet of snow disappearing over a cliff and you know it’s enough to start sliding – scary shit, pardon my French.
The path was a bit difficult to find, the way we had planned to walk – by the description on the site it wasn’t too clear where the start was. I think I used Norgeskart in the end, to get us to where the path was marked on the official map, and then it didn’t help too much either. Thankfully, somebody went there after the snow fell, so we could mostly follow their trail.
